In fact my actual words were \u201cI\u2019ll recipise it.\u201d One day. And it went on and on. Not that I couldn\u2019t cook fish curry, I couldn\u2019t cook it so it would turn out like Mummy\u2019s fish curry. Plus, every time I cooked it, it would turn out different! I\u2019d get it right purely intuitively. And I was tired of that.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>So one day in 2009, I followed her around her wet kitchen, watched her, weighed and measured everything, took pictures and took notes! And this post is the result.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>After recipising it, I tried cooking it on my own at the apartment and the result was\u2026..THIS\u2026fish curry that looked and tasted exactly like Mummy\u2019s!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"My fish curry\" src=\"https:\/\/zarada.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Myfishcurry.jpg\" alt=\"My fish curry\" width=\"520\" height=\"395\" border=\"0\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 3 slices of \u201cikan tenggiri\u201d or king fish<br \/>\n2 tomatoes, quartered<br \/>\n2 \u2013 3 ladies\u2019 fingers, each cut into two<br \/>\n3 \u2013 4 fresh \u201cbelimbing\u201d, if available<br \/>\n1 strip of fresh curry leaves or a handful of dried leaves as substitute<br \/>\n25 gms curry powder (Babas curry powder is great!)<br \/>\n25 gms of \u201csantan\u201d powder (coconut milk powder, \u201cSantan\u201d brand or other)<br \/>\nGolf ball size \u201casam jawa\u201d (tamarind pulp)<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is how to prepare the curry in pictures:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;
